Bill Aston is the Managing Director of Aston Technical Consulting Services, LLC. With more than 39 years of experience in all phases of quality assurance, quality control and quality auditing. His past experiences include conducting QMS and product specification audits for the API, providing major project quality audit support, inspection coordination, management and supervision in the oil and gas and the chemical industries. Mr. Aston has conducted numerous supplier quality audits throughout the USA, Canada and the Middle East and assisted clients with the development and implementation of ISO 9001 and ISO TS 29001/APIQ1 quality management systems.
Mr. Aston is a certified RABQSA, Lead Auditor and an ASQ Certified Quality Auditor. He has held past certifications from the American Welding Society as a Certified Welding Inspector and certifications for various NDT methodologies. Mr. Aston has served as an SME supporting American Society for Quality’s “Ask the Expert” program since 2008.
Mr. Aston is chairman of ASQ’s Energy and Environmental Division’s Oil & Gas Committee, listed with the Round Table Group as an expert witness for quality management systems, a senior member of ASQ, past member of ISO/TC 176 Study Group on Education, past member of the US Technical Advisory Group to ISO Technical Committee 176 (US TAG to ISO TC 176).
